Marcus Ericsson is a Swedish racing driver who competes professionally. Ericsson, who was born on September 2nd, 1990, in Kumla, started his racing career in karting before advancing to single-seater racing.
In 2014, Ericsson joined the Caterham team in Formula One, and his professional racing career quickly took off. During five seasons, he competed in Formula One as a driver for the Caterham and Sauber teams. Despite the difficulties his teams faced, Ericsson proved himself to be a dependable and consistent driver, winning his first and only championship points in 2015.
Ericsson relocated to the US in 2019 and joined Schmidt Peterson Motorsports to race in the IndyCar Series. He came in 17th place in the championship during his first season. 2020 saw Ericsson join Chip Ganassi Racing, and at the GMR Grand Prix at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, he achieved his maiden podium finish.
